About Us

For over 34 years the Delphos Soccer Association (DSA) has been providing a competitive soccer program for the Delphos, Ohio area. Soccer is a great way to introduce children to sports and team play. DSA emphasizes teaching the fundamentals of soccer and, in the recreational program, ensures each child plays at least one half of each game. DSA's recreational outdoor program is designed to develop and challenge players, but most of all, allow them to have fun. DSA is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization committed to providing our community with a low cost, high quality soccer program.

Team Organization

DSA strives to balance teams. Age and gender balancing is done to the best of our abilities while still maintaining that siblings play on the same teams. The DSA will do our best to accommodate other special requests for same team but no guarantees can be made.

The season begins with practices around the 1st week of August, with games beginning on Soccer Sunday. Soccer Sunday is usually the third Sunday of August. This is a fun filled day of soccer, assorted games, team and player photos and great food. Watch this website or our Facebook page for more info to come.

The regular season follows with age 4 & 5 division games generally played on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. The 6 & 7 year old division plays on Wednesday evenings. With the 8 thru 10 year old division playing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The new U12 Girls team plays their games either 5:30 or 6:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. The Junior High Boys & Girls teams generally play their games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Please see the Schedules page of this site for more information.

All U6 thru U11 games are played at the St. John's Annex soccer fields on South Jefferson Street. The U12 girls and Junior High teams travel and will be playing their home games at the St. John's Annex this year.

Uniforms & Equipment

The DSA provides a team shirt, shorts and matching socks that must be the outermost articles of clothing worn while on the playing field. Shin guards are required to participate in DSA games and practices. Soccer cleats are optional, but LSSA does not allow baseball cleats (cleat on the toe of the sole) or football (rectangular cleats on the outmost part of the sole). Players may be asked to bring their own soccer ball for practices:

  • Soccer ball size 3 for ages 4 & 5

  • Soccer ball size 4 for ages 6 & 7

  • Soccer ball size 5 for ages 8 and up

Coaches may schedule practices at various times. Generally, practices will be twice a week prior to the first game for the 6 thru 10 year olds and once a week for the 4 & 5 year olds. Talk to your coaches for exact days and times.
